Synopsis of Recorded Radio Drama
Jamie
has been visiting a friend in the country. It is late at night, and a summer
storm is in full swing. Regardless of the storm, she attempts to drive home to
the city. Along the deserted highway, a few miles from her friend's house, her
car runs out of gas. She decides to start out on foot in search of help.
Instead of
help, she walks up on a murderer dragging the body of his victim from a car. The
murderer gives chase, but Jamie eludes him and makes her way to a lonely bus
stop. She rushes, panic stricken, into the small shelter and quickly bolts the
door behind her. The bus stop is deserted except for one lone passenger waiting
for the last bus. The girl gasps out her frightening experience.
The man
offers protection until the bus is to arrive. He questions her very carefully
about the details of what she recalls of the identity of the murderer. In a
flash of lightning she sees a man's face pressed against the window of the
outside door. This 2nd Man is allowed to enter by the 1st Man. Now, the girl
must make the decision about which of these two men is to be trusted and which
is to be feared.
Finally,
the bus arrives. The 1st Man decides not to get on the bus, and the girl decides
to stay with him. The 2nd Man leaves on the bus. The lights go out and the 1st
Man brings out a flashlight. He lets Jamie hold the flashlight. She recognizes
the flashlight as her own, which she dropped when she saw the murderer dragging
the body from the car. Jamie realizes then, too late, that she has made the
wrong decision. The 1st Man murders Jamie and leaves the bus stop. We assume he
returns to finish his business back at his car.
